The District of Vanderhoof Fire Department is made up of paid on-call firefighters, lead by Fire Chief Ian Leslie. The Fire Department is responsible for:
- Emergency response
- Fire prevention and code enforcement
- Public fire education and safety
- Fire suppression
- Auto extrication
